On 4 August, the Miss Ukraine National Committee held the event ‘Sport Morning with Miss Ukraine: Healthy Edition’ on Kyiv’s TSUM’s rooftop. The event brought together nearly 100 girls including 20 Miss Ukraine 2018 contenders. The first part of the programme, a public talk, featured Iryna Galay, the first Ukrainian woman to conquer Everest, Svitlana Fus, a nutritionist and television presenter and Viktoria Kiose, Miss Ukraine International 2016. They shared some useful tips on proper nutrition, active lifestyle, self-motivation, beauty stereotypes and standards. Then all girls took part in a workout with BodyArt fitness coaches.
On 21 July, the final day of the Odesa International Film Festival, AmCham Ukraine, together with chamber member Lavrynovych & Partners law firm, gathered the business community for a cocktail party to both network and discuss films featured at the festival. Guests enjoyed wine and networking with fellow chamber members. They also had the amazing opportunity to take photos in the cinema and with “real” world-famous actors and actresses such as George Clooney, Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock, and Charlize Theron.
On 13 July, Kyiv’s international business community enjoyed a lovely summer evening in style with The Big Meet Street Party at Aloft Kiev Hotel. Guests were treated to an event dominated by fresh air, sunshine and a convivial atmosphere with pop-up bars and live music from local DJs on the street. Guests also received a complementary welcome drink and had the opportunity to win some cool prizes in a special lottery draw.
On 26 June, Jaguar Land Rover Kyiv Airport, one of Ukraine’s first Arch CI retailers, was officially launched on the Boryspil highway. At least 300 guests, brand fans, and celebrities attended the grand opening party. Speakers included Ivan Hynansky – owner and CEO of Winner Group Ukraine, Petro Rondiak – head of the Management Board of Winner Group Ukraine, and Andrew Jago with Jaguar Land Rover European Importer Region.
Highlights of the evening included a Jaguar XK-120, the legendary sports car that first appeared on the roads in 1948 and became the fastest serial vehicle, as well as a Land Rover Defender preferred by Sir Winston Churchill and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, never out of production between 1948 and 2016.
What makes the retailer special is a range of services it offers such as a barista bar, cigar lounge, children’s room, substitute vehicles, airport service, and off-road track. The venue is one of the new generation dealerships to be erected in the biggest cities across the country by late 2018.
On 21 June, TUCC President Terry Pickard brought together nearly 30 fans of gastronomic fare to Ukraine’s newest gastro heaven serving up local culinary delicacies – Sho. This time it was something more than just a regular monthly meet – club members also celebrated TUCC sommelier Natalie’s birthday! The festive dinner went on in the best traditions of a good old party – greetings exchanged, gifts presented, ‘Happy Birthday’ sung, candles blown out and a cake eaten. And all this amidst incredible Ukrainian tasty threats.
On 22 June, The Big Meet threw another great event for Kyiv’s international business community to network while celebrating the end of the working week. The festive get-together took place at Arena Terrace, a stylish venue in downtown Kyiv. Where will TBM turn up next week? You’ll have to find them on Facebook!
On 1 July, huge crowds turned out to Kyiv’s Sofiivska Square to see enjoy a fabulous event – The Roads of Friendship 2018. Famous American theatre and cinema actor – John Malkovich took part in the big event conducted by legendary composer Riccardo Muti (Italy), who was director for Milan’s Teatro alla Scala for 19 years. The stunning performance featured outstanding contemporary artists including soprano Lyudmyla Monastyrska (Ukraine), and a joint Italian-Ukrainian orchestra and choir comprising more than 300 musicians. The event signalled a very important international social and artistic project for Peace in Ukraine.
On 7 July, a group of rather influential individuals gathered in Kaniv to kick-off what will hopefully become an annual event, called Ukrainian ID. Modelled after the World Economic Forum in Davos, this forum aims to look at homegrown solutions, involving world opinion leaders and generators of economic paradigms, to help develop a free, educated, and sustainable society. The event brought in speakers such as former Finance Minster Natalia Jaresko, Moscow-based correspondent Anna Nemtsova, former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst, and many more. Gathering event President Nataliia Zabolotna will have been very pleased with the inaugural event.
