Ukrainians love winter and its holidays and even have a farewell party for the cold season, called Maslyana. On this day, we say goodbye to winter and begin the countdown to Easter. Head out to Kyiv Rus Park, just 50 or so km from Kyiv, where you’ll be invited to ride horses, fill your belly with mlintsi and other national dishes, and dance and be entertained around the fire. With the recreation of the Kyiv Rus fortress as backdrop, the weekend is sure to be very special.
