Ukrainian Fashion Week SS20
Getting a head start on the season, Ukrainian Fashion Week (UFW) was held in Kyiv on 31 August to 4 September, featuring 64 designers, 45 shows and presentations, five special projects, and six lectures and public talks. As a place where designers, media, and professionals from the various industries in Ukraine meet, the sustainable message has been the focus for the past several years. The mission of the project is to present and promote successful sustainable projects, sustainable development, and to facilitate the progress of the Ukrainian fashion industry in this field.
This season, UFW presented numerous international projects to the Ukrainian public, which is just as important as presenting Ukrainian fashion abroad. One exhibition, Fashion Revolution: The Future of Textiles, highlighted the fashion industry’s major challenges. Showcasing Swedish solutions and initiatives for a more sustainable system, it was organised jointly with the Embassy of Sweden.
UFW has always supported young talent and continues to foster its development, which is why, in 2000, the Young Designers Contest – Look into the Future – was launched. The projects new Names and Fresh Fashion followed in 2003 and 2006 respectively.
The final show of the Safe Fashion competition, organised by Rozetka and UFW, closed the SS20 season. Its aim is to support young designers and highlight road safety issues.
UFW’s partners are undisputed leaders in their respective industries and share UFW’s values of modernity, authenticity, innovative creativity, and sustainability: BMW, Absolute Yachts, Mary Kay, Riviera House, Glo, Kronenbourg 1664, Tresemmé, Braun, L’or, and Lorashen.
See at the show next season in 2020!
