A Pope to be Proud of
It was a grand day for Kyiv at the National Opera Theatre on 18 May, in celebration of Europe Day at a gala concert Gala Europa – A Tribute to Pope Francis. Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the embassies of Italy and Romania, and the Italian Culture Institute of Ukraine, famous artists were in attendance, as was the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine – Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti. Honour was paid to the Pope who has been an integral part in the collection of more than 16 million EUR to be used in aid to those suffering the continued attacks in eastern Ukraine.
