Batter Up!

Back in April, a group of teenage baseball players and their coaches got together in Kropyvnytskyi for the third annual Play Global Spring Tournament. Baseball coaches from the US flew in to work with 50 local players, 12 coaches, and several adult player-coaches during the four-day event. Focusing on effective warm-up and stretching, a daily throwing program, hitting, and many other practice tips and game feedback, one of the participants relayed, “the best coaches in Europe came to work with us!” Of note, Play Global looked to start this international program in Ukraine five years ago. Their plans were thwarted due to Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
