GoGo Penguin (UK, jazz)

Critics call them “the Radiohead of jazz” and this is sure to be the main jazz event of spring 2019. Listeners will be taken aback by the creativity that combines jazz, electronics, trip-hop, rock, and classical music. GoGo Penguin’s works are distinguished by piercing break beats, powerful bass and the minimalist sound of piano. The group, consisting of pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Black and drummer Rob Turner, was nominated for the Mercury Prize for Album of the Year in 2014.
