The Izolyatsiya. Platform for Cultural Initiatives was founded in Donetsk and enjoyed success as a major non-government cultural institution until 9 June 2014. What followed was occupation, including the demolition of artworks by the new military authorities. The institution then moved to Kyiv, and four years later, on this exact day, Izolyatsiya will open the personal exhibition of Pavlo Makov – one of the most eminent Ukrainian graphic artists who recently received Ukraine’s most covered prize – the Shevchenko award.
