Kioto Park
13 September 2020
Every now and then we need to take a relaxing walk in one of Kyiv’s parks. As interesting as they are, sometimes the heart wants for something different, something a bit more unique. We’d recommend the Japanese-themed Kyoto park. Opened in 1972 as a symbol of Ukrainian-Japanese friendship, Kyoto park features real Japanese symbols. Among those the stone of honourable sitting, and the guardian stone. The designers also recreated mount Fuji with a small hill alongside with a pond featuring a waterfall. The one-kilometre long alley has a total of 360 trees. In the spring, the cherries are in blossom making it as close to Japan as you can get in Kyiv.
