Kyivska Perepichka – a Truly Iconic Fast Food Place in Kyiv
Opened in 1981, Kyivska Perepichka has served millions meals and remains a highly popular venue for locals and tourists alike. Perepichka is most famous for it’s unconventional hot-dog.
In essence, it is a sausage deep fried in yeast dough. It’s low price and central location makes it a fave among students and fast food lovers and to top it off, they offer Coca-Cola and other fizzy drinks. However, your best choice is tomato juice.
When giving tours of Kyiv, I always make sure that Perepichka is a stop along the route. Many are often reluctant to try it at first, but few regret it. While not the most aesthetically pleasing (it’s fast-food after all) it is a true symphony of taste for the mouth. And what a scrumptious symphony it is.
