Since the closure of cinemas in March, it’s not only the big screen we’ve been missing. Many of us have also been craving our favourite cinema snack: popcorn. Who doesn’t love that tempting, buttery smell in the lobby, and the cosy feel of sharing a bucket with friends? If you’re a frequent filmgoer who has been making do with second-rate supermarket popcorn for the past few weeks, then we’ve got good news for you — Ukrainian cinema chains are now branching out into takeaway popcorn that’s as good as the real deal. Are you sitting comfortably?
Planeta Kino AKA Pumpidup
Planeta Kino has recently launched its own popcorn brand, Pumpidup. “Our popcorn is puffed up with heated air, not fried in oil. That’s what we call healthy,” they proclaim. Their popcorn is sold in 90g bags and 1kg packs, with a range of exciting flavours you’ll want to test out: cheese-caramel, wasabi, sour cream and onion, classic sea salt, and cheese.
Find it in-store at Kyiv branches of Metro, Novus and Winetime.
Home delivery is also available: place your order on Rozetka (or, if you live in the Pozniaky area, try Raketa or Glovo).
