Walking across Ukraine

15 June 2018

Over the weekend of 8-10 June, Help Us Help the Children (HUHTC) charity was buzzing with activity with an initial Friday evening fundraiser care of His Excellency Roman Waschuk – Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine, and wife Oksana Smerechuk, in the courtyard of the Canadian Embassy. Sunday saw the kick-off of a walkathon, which has president and founder of HUHTC, Ruslana Wrzesnewskyj, embarking on a 650 km walk from Kyiv to Vorokhta to help raise awareness of the problems Ukrainian children face in the orphanage system. The walkathon will end in the Carpathian Mountains on 4 August at the start of Summer Camp 2018.  The goal is to raise one million dollars CAD, to sustain and expand the organisation’s initiatives.
