Ukrainian Women’s Tennis Stars in Fed Cup Action
6-9 February
Widowiskowo Sports Hall (Zielona Góra, Poland)
Led by WTA Finals champion and world No. 4 Elina Svitolina, Ukraine’s women’s tennis team looks to get back on track after two tight losses last year dropped them out of the World Group II stage of the Fed Cup. Seven nations will battle for a single spot in the 2020 World Group II, with Ukraine as one of the favourites to return. Ranked No. 20 in the world, Ukrainian women’s tennis is on the rise. In addition to Svitolina, the team boasts 2018 US Open quarterfinalist Lesia Tsurenko (No. 27) and could select from a slew of up-and-coming teenagers, including Dayana Yastremska, Marta Kostyuk, and Katerina Zavatska.
