Easter in Isolation
This year, Easter will take place amidst the quarantine on April 19, which means that this important Christian holiday will need to be celebrated a little differently this time around — as a “home-holiday”. Instead of coming together, most Ukrainians will sadly need to break their traditions and restrain from seeing family and friends. Undoubtedly, this Easter will be one-to-remember, as everyone adjusts to this new and strange reality. This also means that you may have to go without grandma’s delicious Easter sweets this year and rely on your own cooking skills. For some, experimenting with recipes may seem exciting and fun, but for others, a complete nightmare. If this is you, then take the stress out of your Easter and order from one of Kyiv’s finest bakeries. To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of bakeries serving some delectable Easter treats that’ll help satisfy your cravings — even if they’re not from grandma.
Honey
Honey Confectionery produces a delicious Easter panettone made with fresh Italian sourdough. In the mixture: candied fruit, a unique Swiss meringue, and shu caramel. The panettone comes in three sizes: 550–600g (385 UAH), 400–450g (290 UAH), 200–250g (165 UAH). Delivery within Kyiv is 70 UAH and orders via Nova Poshta start from 300 UAH.
Milk Bar
Milk Bar is accepting pre-orders for their exquisite Easter cakes. They offer four types: Classic (299 UAH for 500g), Classic with Ears (320 UAH for 550g), Three Milk (425 UAH for 750g), and Three Milk With Ears (450 UAH for 800g). You can pick up the cake in person, have it delivered within 10km of the Shota Rustaveli restaurant, or you can even get it posted to other locations in Ukraine.
Yaro
For people who are trying to stick to their diets but still want to indulge — there’s good news. Yaro bakes healthy cakes and sweets made from organic spelt flour, without the addition of sugar, dyes, and baking powders. Here, you can order two types of cakes: Chocolate Easter Cake (399 UAH) and Banana Easter Cake (349 UAH). Delivery only within Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

There are four types of Easter cakes available at The Cake: Chocolate, Condensed Milk, Oreo, and White Chocolate Currant. One of their cakes comes with cute little balloon-dog figurines that are completely edible!
Each cake is available in two sizes: large 500g (400 UAH) and small 300g (250 UAH). They deliver within Kyiv, and pick-up is possible.
Make My Cake
Make My Cake, an Odesa confectionery shop located on Stanislavs’koho street, offers a great range of cakes as well. From cakes with pumpkin seeds, cranberries, nuts, to candied fruits — they have something for everyone. Each one comes in three sizes: 600g (340 UAH), 700g (385 UAH) and 900g (445 UAH). Make My Cake is also doing a Care Pass (300 UAH), where all proceeds go toward fighting the pandemic. Delivery within Kyiv is free, or pick-up for Easter is possible from April 16-18 at the Mozaika and Cafe Charlotte establishments.
