1.As of 9 May, 14 710 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ukraine. Over the past day, 515 cases of the disease were recorded. In total, 2 909 patients have recovered and 376 have died.

2. On 9 May, President Volodymyr Zelensky placed flowers at the Eternal Flame in Kyiv’s Park of Eternal Glory to honour Victory Day over Nazism, giving a minute of silence to the memory of those who died in the Second World War. Later, Zelensky visited the Transcarpathian region, where he laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the memorial complex Hill of Glory in Uzhgorod.
3. The Servant of the People plans to approach Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal with a proposal to open kindergartens on 1 June, Yevheniya Kravchuk, the deputy head of the party, wrote on Facebook. 4. Kyiv’s markets are gradually resuming work after the easing of quarantine restrictions. They can open on condition of following a number of anti-epidemic requirements, including:
– masks worn by employees and visitors;
– people showing signs of COVID-19 are not allowed to enter;
– a distance of three metres must be maintained between vendors and 1.5 metres between visitors; and
– disinfection of contact surfaces every three hours.
5. The Ministry of Education and Science is postponing the start of the admission campaign to universities until August. Students can submit required documents by mail or e-mail.
