1. As of 4 June, a record number of people – 588 cases – were diagnosed with Coronavirus, which the Ministry of Health says they were ready for. Since the beginning of the epidemic in Ukraine, COVID-19 has been confirmed in 25 410 people, of whom 748 have died from complications and 11 040 have recovered.

2. McDonald’s plans to open five restaurants in Ukraine in 2020, to accelerate network development in 2021. “We postponed the reconstruction of restaurants and directed our efforts to open more new restaurants. We did not reduce the number of openings, we changed the prioritisation in accordance with the situation that is happening today,” Yulia Badritdinova, the CEO of McDonald’s in Ukraine, said. The first McDonald’s in Ukraine opened in Kyiv on 24 May 24 1997. The McDonald’s restaurant chain in Ukraine has 93 restaurants in 20 cities.

3. The Kyiv Metro has expanded the list of stations that close at the entrance. Entrances to stations are limited to 20-30 minutes during peak hours to stretch passenger traffic. Under special control inlcude stations Zhytomyrska, Sviatoshyn, Chernihivska, Lisova, and Pochayna, which is where passenger traffic has been growing in recent days.

4. The European Gymnastics Union reported on 4 June that the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Kyiv have been postponed to November. The European competitions will be held in Kyiv on 26-29 November.

5. The Council for State Support of Cinematography supports holding the 49th Molodist International Film Festival. The organisation and holding of the festival will be held in Kyiv from on22-30 August!
