Louis Vuitton’s Photo Book Highlights Ukraine
The venerable fashion house Louis Vuitton will release a Ukraine-focused photo book as part of the Fashion Eye series. It will feature images made by Synchrodogs, the duo of Ukrainian photographers – Tania Shcheglova and Noven Roman.
The book presents their photo project Slightly Altered which was shot in the Carpathian Mountains. It centers on the relationship between humans with nature and their inevitable mutual influence. The authors also note that they want to condemn deforestation and draw public attention beautiful species of plants and endangered animals.
Published in English and French, the album also contains biographical information, an interview with the photographers, a critical essay and captions. From 8 October, it will be available on Amazon for EUR 50 (around UAH 1 700).
Fashion Eye is a collection of travel photography books Louis Vuitton has been releasing since 2016. The purpose is to showcase history and character of a city, place or country through the camera lens of the most promising photographers. Last year’s issues were dedicated to France, Japan, Bali and Iran.
Born in Ivano-Frankivsk, Tania Shcheglova and Roman Noven have been photoshooting together since 2008. They are the winners of Feature Shoot 2019, and finalists of LensCulture 2019 Vogue Italy. Their photos have been published in renowned media, including New York, Dazed and Confused, British Journal of Photography (UK), AnOther (UK), Vogue Ukraine (cover), Purple (France), Wall Street Journal (USA), Stylist (France), Neon (Germany), Baron magazine (UK), Esquire, Harpers Bazaar (Ukraine), Vision (China), Line magazine (Spain), Vice (UK, USA, Russia, Spain, Italy, Germany).
