Ukraine’s undefeated 2012 Olympic champion and current WBO cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (13-0-0, 11 KOs) will take another step in unifying the cruiserweight crowns when he meets Latvia’s Mairis Briedis (23-0, 18 KOs) in Riga on 27 January in a World Boxing Super Series semi-final. Designed to unify the belts in boxing’s cruiserweight and super middleweight classes, the event features many of the divisions’ top fighters. In addition to becoming the division’s undisputed world champion, the tournament winner receives the Muhammad Ali Trophy and a cool $10 million USD.
