Enhanced EU Trade!
20 October 2017
As Ukraine continues to deepen ties with the EU, fresh figures just out show that in the first eight months of 2017 exports to the EU have grown by close to a billion dollars compared to last year! The export volume now stands at $3.6 billion, and so a 37.3% increase is a remarkable achievement for the country’s reorienting economy.
Ukraine’s low-cost manufacturing base (where labour is cheaper than in China) coupled with the relative wealth of EU consumers looks like a match made in heaven. If only this EU Association Agreement and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement could have kicked in sooner, eh? It’s starting to look like a no-brainer for all involved. Hurrah! We love good news!
