So here we are, the beginning of a new week. check out these events to help you make the most of it.

  1. New German cinema in Kyiv

Goethe-Institut Ukraine and Arthouse Traffic invite viewers to the screening of the 26th annual New German Cinema Festival, which will take place from 15 to 21 October at the Zhovten Cinema. All films are shown in the original language with Ukrainian subtitles. The program includes the melodrama “Undina”, the crime drama “Berlin Alexanderplatz”, the drama “The Destroyer of the System”, the satirical comedy “Name”, and many more.

“Undina” will be shown at the opening of the festival on October 15.

  1. The last week of the exhibition “The Unknown Calls” by Ivan Turetsky

Ivan Turetsky, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and Co-founder of the Ukrainian Heraldic Society is the  creator of many territorial and private coats of arms, in particular, he co-created the small state coat of arms of Ukraine and the modern coat of arms of Lviv.

The exhibition “The Unknown Calls” presents new works of  the artist created during 2020.

For the first time, his experimental works in the technique of stereo printing and handmade tapestry will be exhibited in the Portal11 gallery.

When: from 26 September to 18 October, from 11:00 to 19:00; Mondays, Tuesdays  and weekends

Where: Portal11, str. Three Saints, 11

Price: entrance is free

 

  1. Free exhibition “Ukraine to the touch”

In September and October, a free exhibition “Ukraine to the Touch” is available in the general space of the museum in the dark “Third after midnight”.

At the exhibition you will be able to get a touch of busts of prominent figures and models of buildings, which are depicted on 6 Ukrainian banknotes of the series 2014-2020.

Among them: Lesya Ukrainka, Volodymyr Vernadsky, Lviv Opera House, Lutsk Castle Tower and many others!

Seems like an enjoyable option for the start of the work week!
