Kyiv to Host World Junior Hockey Finals
14 September 2019
Some of the top junior ice hockey players in the world will be in Kyiv this winter when the city hosts the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship – Division 1B from 10-17 December. The city will welcome teams from Estonia, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Ukraine after fending off an Italian bid.
Kyiv has become the hockey hotbed after hosting the Division 1A worlds in 2017, the Under-18 Division 1A worlds in 2018, and the Division 1B worlds in 2011. Ukraine remains in the third tier of junior hockey after finishing fourth at last year’s event. All games will be held at the Palats Sportu.
