Shallett Ice Arena
If you’re looking for Kyiv’s newest home for winter sports, head on over to Shallett Ice Arena on the left bank. Home to both the Kyiv Ice Wolves of the Ukrainian Hockey League and the Ukrainian champions Kyiv Ukrainochka of the Ukrainian Women’s Hockey League, there is plenty of ice action to be had at this modern stadium. Ukrainochka players made up nearly half of the Ukrainian National Women’s team that won its first tournament back in over 20 years in 2019. There are also figure skating competitions, ice shows, and public skating available. A 15 minute walk from Darnytsia metro, you can stroll through the picturesque Victory Park (Park Peremoha) on the way to or from the game, where you can find a modern sports playground, including tennis courts, cycling paths, and boat rental.
