Women’s ice hockey may be new to Ukraine, but it’s taking the country by storm! Just two years after the formation of Ukraine’s first-ever professional women’s ice hockey league, the Ukrainian Ice Hockey Federation announced the formation of a women’s national team – the first in 23 years! To celebrate, Ukraine will be participating in the IIHF’s World Girls Ice Hockey festivities for the third straight year. One of the fastest-growing sports in the world, the event is designed to introduce girls to ice hockey. If you like it, you can even sign-up for a team right on site. Meet the women who will play on Ukraine’s new national team, try your hand at some hockey drills, or enter the contests to win some cool prizes – there’ll be something there for everyone!
